Serpentine Gallery

Carrying on from our previous work in relation to our "Past, Present and Future" theme we visited the famous Serpentine Gallery in Kensington Gardens.
On display was a structure which was extremely interesting because of its usability and interaction with its audience. The subject is able to enter, pass over and walk around the structure.

The architect behind this structure was Sou Fujimoto, the youngest person, at 41, to take part in the "Serpentine Gallery Pavillion" project in its thirteen year history.
I was very intrigued by the use of the metal bar constructed to make a three-dimensional cube which was then fused together with hundreds, if not thousands, of other cubes to create such a stunning and interesting piece.

Whilst on-site, I did attempt a couple of sketches of this unbelievably precise structure and although my sketches do not show this pavillion in all its glory, I believe they work well in giving a general sense of the building.
However, I could have improved my sketches by being more precise and trying to capture the almost cloud-like formation with sharper, more angular pencil marks.
