Memory Palace

The main purpose of my trip to Kensington though was not to see the Serpentine Gallery, as interesting as it was however, but it was in fact to visit the V&A Gallery to see what I can honestly say is one of my favourite, most captivating exhibitions to date.

The exhibition was presented in the form of a walk-in story, bringing to life a novel by author Hari Kunzru in which the main subject is living in a world of oppression and is left only with his "Memory Palace" which they are forbidden to use within this new society.

Although sketching and taking photos were not allowed in the exhibition, we were however able to take notes, which I took full advantage of to jot down some of the ideas presented and the works themselves put together by various creative practitioners from illustrators the fine artists, and graphic designers to typographers.
Alongside my notes, the audience were able to pick up other various leaflets created by the artists in order to make the exhibition even more interactive and submersive.
