3D Design, Rotation Week 1- Chair

Continuing on from our previous bottle holders, we were then given the challenge of creating a structure which could hold the weight of a human using only 4 pieces of card and masking tape.
This task was very challenging and extremely difficult given the flexibility of the card.
However, I did manage to create a seat like structure which looked neat and had a clean finish

 

 

Despite the effort and time put into this product it was not fit for purpose and merely collapsed when tested by a fellow student.

This proved that although some things look good, they may not actually be practical for what they are supposed to be used for. This made me realise the thought which goes in to designing a product in order to create something which is not only visually appealing but also something which is practical
